Another important milestone has been reached in preparing the Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan for the Kireçhane Micro-Watershed as part of the DOKSAY Project. Community meetings held as part of the planning process were completed on 17 July in the Kireçhane, Yeşilılıca, Güneşli, Güneştepe, Kırklartepe and Üzümlü neighborhoods within the micro-watershed.
A total of 166 people attended the meetings, organized in cooperation with Salarha Municipality and local neighborhood heads. Participants shared their views and suggestions on environmental issues and the use and management of natural resources. Priority issues, needs and potential solutions for the area were also discussed in detail.
The community meetings aimed to incorporate local knowledge and experience into the management plan through a participatory planning approach. The findings will contribute to developing a practical, long-term roadmap for the sustainable management of natural resources in the Kireçhane Micro-Watershed.
These participatory efforts are contributing to an inclusive and sustainable management approach that addresses both natural resource conservation and local needs in the preparation of the Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan.
